Abri The Ride
Abri has many stages, but its trademark, The Ride, has become perhaps our most talked-about production venue. Once a New York City yellow school bus, The Ride is a mobile performance and exhibition space as versatile as it is eye-catching. Just a few of its past incarnations include an art installation, a mobile photo studio, a platform for music and dance performances, a roving magic show, and even a space for elegant dinner parties. The true beauty of Abri's The Ride lies in our ability to take high-level art directly to people all over New York, harnessing the energy of a locale to showcase our artists in different environments and ensuring that even the same event will have a different outcome, night after night. And because of its high visibility, Abri receives numerous invitations to have The Ride roll by, with major art galleries and a prominent music festival as recent examples.
The Ride is alive and on the move thanks to the direct artistic input of Abri artists, and it will evolve and transform continually with each event, until the wheels come off (at which point we will purchase and refit another bus).
